Apartment hunting has been a success! We found a nice place that is a house that was added onto to have apartments. It's a little pricy, but the only utilities we'd have to worry about would be electric, cable, and internet. It's furnished, has fans in every room and an electric heating system. We won't have to pay extra to get a cat and it's a couple blocks from this:

(Ok, so that's technically Huntington Beach, but you get the idea.)

So, all we gotta do is put our applications through, but it seems like we may get it!

So, I went to the zoo today.

And then I thought, "GEE I'm sunburnt! Isn't it a grand idea to paint until 3 A.M.!?"

Why do finals make me do suicidal things? That's going to be my typical day until Tuesday. I may not even sleep Monday night.

Subject:Two Bits of Bad News
Time:9:29 pm.
My room mate's grandmother died so I'm going to be spending the last three weeks of school by myself while she goes back to Taiwan.

And we just got off the phone with my uncle. I was the one who answered it and had to call my mom while she was on her way home from seeing Iron Man with my brother. My cousin, Jason, was in an auto accident this weekend. He was hit by a truck while driving home from work and had to be cut out of his car. He's alive but it looks like he'll be loosing his leg.

Luckily, we aren't close, so I'm emotionally ok (though a bit shaken). I've met him once when I was a wee babe, but it's family, you know.

Any good thoughts, prayers, or energy that can be sent his way would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and blessed be.

EDIT: His legs gonna make it! We were able to get in touch with my aunt this morning. He's got 11 ribs broken, both legs, and two lumbar vertebrae. It hit him across the median and had it's lights off at 62 mph.

Ok, so I'm probably going to be laughed at this, but I'm reopening an RP I used to play in as a mod with some other friends. Yes, It's Naruto (OMG DON'T NARUTARD ME) and yes, it's crack. If anyone is interested, the advert is here. I'm playing Karin and Deidara.

Walking home from class today, I came across a little brown sparrow. By little, it was easily nestled in the palm of my hand. By across, it was in the middle of a walkway, SLEEPING. Where people were frequenting. Where it shouldn't be. I thought it was a piece of trash first but when I got closer, I saw it was feathered. I thought it was dead, so I looked closer and it was still alive. I poked it gently and it hopped but went back to sleep.

I was freaking out. I was worried that it was injured or sick. D: Poor birdy! I picked it up and tried to call my parents to find out what to do to help it. It was so little (like a baby). I had this little birdy in my hand, nestled up and sleeping while I tried to walk back to my dorm. Yes, I know, I could get all sorts of diseases. My parents were telling me to leave it. But I couldn't do that. So they told me to call the humane society, but said they weren't going to care.

But then, Bird decided to wake up and it flew! Huzzah! I guess it was just resting. :D

It flew a little ways and fell back asleep in the grass. I tried to give it water, but then it got up and flew into the pushes like the normal birds around here. I think it'll be fine.

Going home for spring break now! I did wash my hands as soon as I was back and I threw the water bottle away. I wish I had gotten a picture.

Happy Ostara or Easter! Or New Year, if you're Iranian/Persian (I know I'm off because it was earlier this week). The rest of you can share candy with the rest of us.

Did I ever mention I love Alanis Morissette? I watched this video recently and it reminded me of something ashenmote would like. Forgive me if I'm wrong. Plus, Dancing makes me happy.

Well, you all know that George Washington saved children (just not the British children), but did you know that JFK was a hyper-sympathetic telepathic machine?

Also, Bible History #1. Sodom and Gomorah- Sodom being named after sodomy and Gomorah being named after an even weirder move. Genisis: 19, TOTAL INSANITY!(possibly NSFW)

I <3 Brad Neely.
ETA: Brad Neely dubbing over the Wand Scene from the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. This is part of Wizard People, Dear Reader, a redubbing of said movie!

I'm having trouble deciding which painting to do for my AH term paper. So, I'm doing a fake poll, because I don't know how to set those up anyways. These are the five choices I've narrowed it down to.

1. Madonna and Child with Book by Rapheal.
2. Bust Portrait of a Courtesean by Giorgione (possibly Titian).
3. Venus and Cupid in a Landscape by Jacopo Palma il Vecchio.
4. Mythological Scene (Featuring Pan and Echo) by Dosso Dossi.
5. The Penitent Magdelene by Titian.
6. IMAGINARY TICKY!

Feedback is appreciated. Please only pick one painting. You can imaginary ticky all you like!

Time:12:29 pm.
I was going to apply for an exchange trip to Italy this summer but there's no way I could come up with the money, even if I got the scholarship and a job (I would basically need to get one NOW!). I feel a little pathetic telling people this, but I know that I really can't make spur of the minute decisions like that and maybe I can plan to go on a different exchange program next summer. The way I look at it, I'll definitely be working this coming year because I should be in an apartment with my friend up here. I do feel like I can work now, but I'd have to find a job and one that doesn't require me to work past five on weekends (that's usually art homework time and I know my load going to start getting heavier now).

I've got a sore throat because I ran around all weekend and got drunk at a party at my friends house. It was still fun because I met some people I don't usually get to see often. I'll post pics of my costume when I get some. There was a strobe light and that didn't help, but they gave me glowsticks and I failed mightly at playing with them. A raver, I am not.

Ok, Valentine's Day has already begun to annoy the crap out of me this year. Probably because I'm 23 and still have never been in a relationship and for once, everyone I fucking know is in one (minus a few people for margin of error). Every year, it gets more and more annoying. I'm going to have to find some activity to do on the 14th or I'm just going to just glare at people like I do when I go to It's A Small World at Disneyland.

Oh hell, I'm neurotic, I know. You still love me, right? D:

It's just that it bugs me around the Holidays and this time of year. And to think it never bothered me until I switched schools.

Time:10:43 am.
I've been gone because friends have been visiting. Did I miss anything in particular?

I got to spend a lovely day with Robin and Dan at the Bower's Museum. The Terracotta Warriors aren't there, but the Egyptian exhibit on loan from the British Museum was and I enjoyed that more than I thought I would. Mummies are just awesome. They also had a nice exhibit on Ancient China from the permnament collection and a visiting gem stone exhibit. Dan promised he'd buy me a tiera when he became famous. They had the most amazing little carved animals made out of gem stones. There was also a giant double-fired(?) fossil which shone beautiful reds, yellows, and oranges. I also love seeing the usual stuff- especially the Native American baskets, the Mayan artifacts, and the headdresses from Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and the Americas. They had a few very intricately carved caskets from Indonesia I believe which were in the shape of animals and one from Central America carved as a Jaguar.

I'm going back in May for the Warriors.

We then went down to Old Towne Orange and went to my favorite little cafe bistro place. I had chilli, a chicken chipotle panini (which comes with pasta and a bite size desert chocolate chip cookie), and chocolate gellato. It was freezing out, but I don't get gellato every day.

We drove back the canyon route and the creek is full and rushing which makes me happy, because we needed the water. It was my first time driving through it since the fires and some areas are entirely back and the trees that once covered over head were no longer there. It was sad, but it's still beautiful.

And then we spent all night playing Uno and watching Austin Powers. Next time they come down, provided there is no rain, I'm taking them to San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point.

To make this an official fannish entry- my copy of Diablo II arrived and I think I'm going to choose the Amazon class.

Time:7:18 pm.
If anyone is wondering where I have been, my comp is still not hooked up yet. I'm back at home. But good news, I have a job!

I'm celebrating Yule tomorrow with the girls.

Yelena, I still haven't gotten your package yet. I'll let you know when, but I'm not opening it until Dec. 25.

Subject:BANKSY!
Time:7:51 pm.
There seems to be a big surprise for the season if you go to the main page of Banksy's website and click "www.santasghetto.com" at the bottom. I'd direct link there but the line about the NY show (which I was actually trying to look for info about) is funny. And then go click Wall. Trust me. It's awesome. More awesome than the first time Banksy did it, because there are more street artists involved.

Unfortunately, the site closes on the 25th. I will probably be OC saving every image as it updates, but I want to save the whole thing. Is that possible?

Wishing a Happy Chanukah to my Jewish friends.

On the bright side of things, I got my blood test results back and I got a lower dosage of my medication prescribed because the results were way higher than the psychiatrist had wanted them to be. I'm feeling a bit off at the moment because I had to stop taking it to clear out my system and I am picking up my prescription this afternoon. I have a lot of work to do this weekend, so I probably won't be around much. However, I'll be on tonight.

On the bad side of things, my brother's evil girlfriend broke up with him the day before his lab final exam. And before the holidays. And finals. Nice timing, you bitch.

Subject:Thanksgiving!
Time:1:58 pm.
Out of boredom, I compiled some youtube links for you all. I used to not get so excited about it, but when you eat dorm food most of the year, it's hard not to.

Will it Blend?-Thanksgiving Uncle Floyd loves dark meat.

How to Draw a Turkey

Butterball Turkey (has a butt, so possibly NSFW)

Grindhouse- "Thanksgiving Fault" (Explicit)- You'll need to log in and confirm your birthdate to view it (Contains Nudity and Gore so NSFW). It's pretty hilarious "White meat, dark meat, all will be carved."

George Winston performing "Thanksgiving"

Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Theme by the Guaraldi Trio

The first part of the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special Part 2 and 3 are uploaded by the same person.

Adam Sandler's Thanksgiving Song - Still annoying as it was when it first came out, but I like the pictures this user spliced of President Bush traditionally pardoning a bird.

So, Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it. To those who don't, I still hope you have a good day tomorrow.

Also, since we're moving into the "holiday season," here's My Charlie Brown Christmas by the cast of Scrubs.
