Apartment hunting has been a success! We found a nice place that is a house that was added onto to have apartments. It's a little pricy, but the only utilities we'd have to worry about would be electric, cable, and internet. It's furnished, has fans in every room and an electric heating system. We won't have to pay extra to get a cat and it's a couple blocks from this:

(Ok, so that's technically Huntington Beach, but you get the idea.)

So, all we gotta do is put our applications through, but it seems like we may get it!

My room mate's grandmother died so I'm going to be spending the last three weeks of school by myself while she goes back to Taiwan.

And we just got off the phone with my uncle. I was the one who answered it and had to call my mom while she was on her way home from seeing Iron Man with my brother. My cousin, Jason, was in an auto accident this weekend. He was hit by a truck while driving home from work and had to be cut out of his car. He's alive but it looks like he'll be loosing his leg.

Luckily, we aren't close, so I'm emotionally ok (though a bit shaken). I've met him once when I was a wee babe, but it's family, you know.

Any good thoughts, prayers, or energy that can be sent his way would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and blessed be.

EDIT: His legs gonna make it! We were able to get in touch with my aunt this morning. He's got 11 ribs broken, both legs, and two lumbar vertebrae. It hit him across the median and had it's lights off at 62 mph.

Walking home from class today, I came across a little brown sparrow. By little, it was easily nestled in the palm of my hand. By across, it was in the middle of a walkway, SLEEPING. Where people were frequenting. Where it shouldn't be. I thought it was a piece of trash first but when I got closer, I saw it was feathered. I thought it was dead, so I looked closer and it was still alive. I poked it gently and it hopped but went back to sleep.

I was freaking out. I was worried that it was injured or sick. D: Poor birdy! I picked it up and tried to call my parents to find out what to do to help it. It was so little (like a baby). I had this little birdy in my hand, nestled up and sleeping while I tried to walk back to my dorm. Yes, I know, I could get all sorts of diseases. My parents were telling me to leave it. But I couldn't do that. So they told me to call the humane society, but said they weren't going to care.

But then, Bird decided to wake up and it flew! Huzzah! I guess it was just resting. :D

It flew a little ways and fell back asleep in the grass. I tried to give it water, but then it got up and flew into the pushes like the normal birds around here. I think it'll be fine.

Going home for spring break now! I did wash my hands as soon as I was back and I threw the water bottle away. I wish I had gotten a picture.

I was going to apply for an exchange trip to Italy this summer but there's no way I could come up with the money, even if I got the scholarship and a job (I would basically need to get one NOW!). I feel a little pathetic telling people this, but I know that I really can't make spur of the minute decisions like that and maybe I can plan to go on a different exchange program next summer. The way I look at it, I'll definitely be working this coming year because I should be in an apartment with my friend up here. I do feel like I can work now, but I'd have to find a job and one that doesn't require me to work past five on weekends (that's usually art homework time and I know my load going to start getting heavier now).

I've got a sore throat because I ran around all weekend and got drunk at a party at my friends house. It was still fun because I met some people I don't usually get to see often. I'll post pics of my costume when I get some. There was a strobe light and that didn't help, but they gave me glowsticks and I failed mightly at playing with them. A raver, I am not.

And I actually have a small surplus for this semester, but I'm still saving my money like the penny pincher I am. But, I'm pre-excited for Ren-Faire, because I can actually afford a new bodice. Gosh, the one I have is so old that I wore it in high-school and the girls have stretched it out. Plus its Cordoroy (I didn't know better at the time!).

I would like to buy it at Faire but I always feel so strange when people hawk things to me (although I know half the fun is trying on bodices and people being in character). I really wish I had time to sew at school (I've made three costumes-I'm not super good, but I can at least follow a pattern). Now, I should be able to borrow some clothes from a friend until I can buy my own when I get there, but there is quite a difference between our body shape so I think I'll purchase at least the bodice online.

By the way, I got my bodice when I was 14.
Ok, Valentine's Day has already begun to annoy the crap out of me this year. Probably because I'm 23 and still have never been in a relationship and for once, everyone I fucking know is in one (minus a few people for margin of error). Every year, it gets more and more annoying. I'm going to have to find some activity to do on the 14th or I'm just going to just glare at people like I do when I go to It's A Small World at Disneyland.

Oh hell, I'm neurotic, I know. You still love me, right? D:

It's just that it bugs me around the Holidays and this time of year. And to think it never bothered me until I switched schools.

I've been gone because friends have been visiting. Did I miss anything in particular?

I got to spend a lovely day with Robin and Dan at the Bower's Museum. The Terracotta Warriors aren't there, but the Egyptian exhibit on loan from the British Museum was and I enjoyed that more than I thought I would. Mummies are just awesome. They also had a nice exhibit on Ancient China from the permnament collection and a visiting gem stone exhibit. Dan promised he'd buy me a tiera when he became famous. They had the most amazing little carved animals made out of gem stones. There was also a giant double-fired(?) fossil which shone beautiful reds, yellows, and oranges. I also love seeing the usual stuff- especially the Native American baskets, the Mayan artifacts, and the headdresses from Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and the Americas. They had a few very intricately carved caskets from Indonesia I believe which were in the shape of animals and one from Central America carved as a Jaguar.

I'm going back in May for the Warriors.

We then went down to Old Towne Orange and went to my favorite little cafe bistro place. I had chilli, a chicken chipotle panini (which comes with pasta and a bite size desert chocolate chip cookie), and chocolate gellato. It was freezing out, but I don't get gellato every day.

We drove back the canyon route and the creek is full and rushing which makes me happy, because we needed the water. It was my first time driving through it since the fires and some areas are entirely back and the trees that once covered over head were no longer there. It was sad, but it's still beautiful.

And then we spent all night playing Uno and watching Austin Powers. Next time they come down, provided there is no rain, I'm taking them to San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point.

To make this an official fannish entry- my copy of Diablo II arrived and I think I'm going to choose the Amazon class.

There seems to be a big surprise for the season if you go to the main page of Banksy's website and click "www.santasghetto.com" at the bottom. I'd direct link there but the line about the NY show (which I was actually trying to look for info about) is funny. And then go click Wall. Trust me. It's awesome. More awesome than the first time Banksy did it, because there are more street artists involved.

Unfortunately, the site closes on the 25th. I will probably be OC saving every image as it updates, but I want to save the whole thing. Is that possible?

I have a lot of work to do this weekend, so I probably won't be around much.
The park where I used to go for hikes is now gone. It was a haven for me and I don't even want to think of what I'm going to see next time I go home. It pretty much saved the homes around it by trapping the fire between the hills. It's a sad loss and I may not have that beautiful place to go to anymore.

My friend who lives in one of the areas that is currently evacuated isn't answering her damn cell phone (KEELY, IF YOU'RE READING THIS, YOU BETTER CALL ME OR BONNIE OR WE'RE GOING TO KILL YOU). Several other friends had to evacuate, but are now allowed back in their houses. Our home was in one of the volentary evacuation areas, but the fire is now away from us so, thankfully, my family didn't have to evacuate. But the fire did get closer than it ever has before (we live quite close to the wilderness park). I was able to reach my other friends, so I know they are alright. My family is alright.

ETA: I got in touch with her. She's alright.

And still not liking it. Though the boobies offerings are appeasing me. And I skipped class this morning because, although I got enough sleep last night, I woke up with a headache and my sleeping pill made me hallucinate last night. It was really weird. I was reading an article about the Tut exhibit and the London's O2 floating a giant Anubis statue down the weather and I thought the picture was moving or animated and the text was moving. I started hovering my mouse over it, seeing if I could play with the animation. It looked like the Daily Prophet does in the movies. In fact, I had too check the computer this morning to make sure it was a still and that everything wasn't moving.

That's when I decided to fumble my way towards the bed and, low and behold, the ceiling looked like it had pastel colored fuzzy ribbons wiggling about on it. I've never hallucinated before in my life.

I have to spend the night finishing an art project. But it shouldn't take long since I blocked everything in last night and just need to fix areas of color and some shape.

And both my parents are telling me it's an ok if I'm a lesbian because they are concerned because I don't date anyone, ever. The funny thing is my dad had that conversation with me on the day Dumbledore was outed by JKR. And it's making me further confused about my sexuality. I've already identified myself as a bisexual (I have since I was 15), so I'm ok with them thinking I like girls, because yeah, I do like girls. But now I'm wondering if I like them more than men. But I never give guys a chance because I'm a bit scared of them (I don't know if that makes sense) and I never had male friends growing up. I didn't tell them I might be because I'm not sure of it myself, but I've been thinking about it for a while. And I really don't know.

And then put the video up on youtube.
